As part of Storefront-in-a-Box, this summer Play by Play Theatre Bookstore will transform 2441 Lyndale Ave South into THEATEROPOLIS - a jam-packed week-long celebration of Twin Cities Theatre July 27 to August 1. Meet local theatre artists. Get inside the process. Learn a new skill. Dust off your headshot. We'll be presenting a series of theatre-related workshops, activities & special events. And be sure to stop by our "Summer Stock" Art & Craft Bazaar for unique gifts by local theatre artists.

Savage Umbrella - Open Rehearsal for Leaves

America through the eyes of Whitman and the ensemble - directed by Laura Leffler-McCabe & Bryan Grosso. Savage Umbrella is proud to present their newest company-collaborated show, Leaves. Leaves is an exploration of the contemporary American spirit. Using prolific American poet Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass as source material, the ensemble will define, destroy, scrutinize and applaud who Americans are at this moment in history. The script is being created currently in workshops with actors, writers and composers. A world-premiere new work!

Artist Career Consultation

  • Springboard for the Arts offers individual artist career consultations for artists who are serious about developing the professional presentation of their work and finding new audiences. In a consultation, Artist Services professionals get to know you and your work, help you set goals for the coming year and develop realistic strategies to help you reach those goals. Through individual artist career consultations, hundreds of artists have advanced their careers: by polishing demo tapes, getting published in magazines, and having art galleries agree to present shows. Adjunct staff member, Zaraawar Mistry, of Dreamland Arts will offer a group career consulting session – bring your questions and prepare to take your career to the next level.
